I didn't plan on the year that reshaped how I practice. It arrived the way most turning points do, gradually, and then all at once, through a string of long shifts, a family health scare, and a growing sense that I was managing my career instead of living it.

What I learned wasn't dramatic. I learned that asking for help earlier costs less than waiting until you're desperate. I learned that a single honest conversation with a colleague can carry you further than months of quiet struggling alone.

Mostly, I learned that the hardest seasons don't have to be wasted. They can become the reason you finally build something more sustainable, if you let them.
